2018 Power Up Season – Leveling Up with the Terror Bytes

The 2018 FRC season Power Up dropped the Terror Bytes into a retro 8-bit arcade world, complete with glowing cubes, scale battles, and high-energy competition. In just their second season, Team 6528 powered up under the guidance of Coach Trent Begeman, competing at both the Gibraltar (our home event!) and Belleville District events. The game challenged alliances of three robots to gain control of the Switch and Scale using yellow Power Cubes, earn power-ups, and climb the Scale Tower to “defeat the boss.” Just like classic arcade heroes, the Terror Bytes embraced the engineering design process, rapidly prototyping, testing, and refining their robot to rise through the levels of competition. With teamwork, determination, and a Pac-Man style hunger for improvement, the Terror Bytes continued to level up their skills and show the FRC world what Gibraltar is made of!
