What is Dog Bot?
Dog Bot is an experimental robot built by FIRST Robotics Team 6528 Terror Bytes using a chassis purchased several years ago. Designed as a hands-on learning tool, Dog Bot provides new robotics students with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in building and programming FRC robots. Through this robot, students learn how to connect motors to a Rio2, develop coding skills, and practice driving—enhancing their technical knowledge in a fun and engaging way. Dog Bot is frequently driven around Shumate Middle School (SMS) and Carlson High School (CHS), allowing students to refine their skills in a real-world setting. Additionally, the Terror Bytes bring Dog Bot to the annual Carnival for a Cause, where other students have the chance to drive it while helping to raise money for the Special Olympics. This unique robot not only serves as an educational platform but also fosters community engagement and excitement for STEM.
